How much time it takes to join the post through SSC CGL after clearing all the tiers?



After clearing all the tiers of SSC CGL Exam one gets satisfaction. It is a new start to the career with social status. Now, one has to wait for the joining letter which depends on various factors such as:
  1. Post you are selected for
It depends on your rank and the post you are shortlisted for joining. For the rank holders in the first 100s gets the quick response than those in the rank above 100. For example if you are selected as ASO in CSS then you are given joining within 2 months after the result.
  1. Process of the department
Some departments conduct Medical tests and Police Verification (PVR) before joining, which delays the process and some only prefer PVR which saves time.
  1. Physical tests
There are some posts which require physical stats to be examined before joining. These departments carry physical tests such as running, cycling etc. as in Excise Inspector which at times delays the process of joining.
  1. Need of the Department for personnel
In case there is an urgent need of staff in any department then you are given early joining if you are selected for the particular department. In 2016 there was a dire need of staff in CAG thus the process took only 4 days after the result declaration and the candidates were given immediate joining.
  1. Any court case running on SSC during the process
Last year there were many court cases on SSC regarding the misconduct of examinations at various levels? This can also be the limiting factor for the authorities to give immediate joining. They have to deal with the legal proceedings first over that of any other proceedings.
  1. Post wise joining time
Generally joining time is taken according to the post which is given below:
  1. ASO in CSS : 2–3 months
  2. ASO in MEA, Railways, AFHQ : 3–5 months
  3. Inspectors in Excise, PO, Examiners, ITI : 4–6 months
  4. Auditors, AAOs, DAs in CAG : 3–5 months
  5. CGDA Auditors : 4–8 months
