What strategy should be followed while preparing for SSC CGL 2018?



Due to recent SSC Scam band call given by many students which has de-motivated the aspirants of SSC CGL Exam 2018. They are waiting for the right time to choose for SSC Exam preparation. Most of them have dropped the idea of taking any SSC CGL Coaching as they are not sure of the exam’s notification. It is advisable to keep your exam preparation intact rather than relying on the rumors regarding non-examination of SSC CGL 2018. Even if it is not happening this year due to some or the other reason, it will be held the next year. Make a proper strategy to study for the exam as it is a competitive exam and you have to face millions of competitors taking exam all over the country.

Strategy to follow to prepare for SSC CGL Exam  

1. In case you are opting for self study looking into the present scenario, do not purchase or follow more than one book per subject. Follow one reputed author’s book as a resource book.
2. All the sections are important to score well in the exam, therefore, never opt for selective study. Give equal time to all the subjects especially when you are preparing for SSC CGL Tier 1.
3. Use your time judiciously and do not waste your time in any socialization or social networking. It will diverge your mind and you will not be able to concentrate much on your studies.
4. Develop healthy eating habits so that you do not fall sick.
5. To boost your energy level one can practice meditation. Wake up early morning and practice it for 15-20 minutes daily.
6.  Make a systematic time table and follow it religiously.
7. Practice each subject chapter-wise after completing the syllabus. Take the help of previous year question papers to give an idea about the exam pattern and type of questions asked in SSC CGL Exam.
8. Do not think about the result while preparing for it, develop a positive thinking and keep on working hard to grab your dream job.
9. Revise the topics already covered by taking topic tests. You can get readymade topic tests by joining online test series. These portals provide you with proper feedback of your performance which helps you to improve further.
10. Complete the entire syllabus in 3 to 4 months and after that do rigorous practice.
11. Practice at least 50 new questions on each subject. Make a time table for revision. Practicing 50 questions will satisfy your mind and you will be able to work on your weak areas before going to the exam.
12. Mathematics and English are such subjects which need maximum practice; give more preference to these subjects by giving ample of time to practice.
13. Reasoning and General Studies need presence of mind rather than to practice. There are no rules to follow. These are scoring sections and easy to prepare but do not ignore them.
14. In case you wish to join SSC Coaching in Chennai, opt for the reputed one by going through its background and results of the previous years.
15. Do not waste your time on difficult topics rather leave it for the time being and seek the help of a subject expert to understand the same.
16. Do not forget to take care of yourself. Take proper sleep of at least 6 hours to avoid any health problem. It will boost your energy level also. Having sleepless nights in tension will not reap any fruits. Plan your day in such a way so that you finish your syllabus and the revision during the waking hours. Do not sacrifice your resting time, mind also needs rest.
